(March 6, 2020, 8:49 AM EST) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — A California Indian tribe and its officials could get a quick answer to their recent request for U.S. Supreme Court review of a Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals holding that tribal sovereign immunity does not protect the officials from a casino development company’s fraud and racketeering claims, with the high court on Feb. 19 distributing the case for conference following the respondent’s refusal to oppose certiorari (Angela James, et al. v. JW Gaming Development, LLC, No. 19-971, U.S. Sup.)....
