California Panel Affirms $14M In Prejudgment Interest In Stringfellow Dispute

(October 2, 2017, 1:07 PM EDT) -- RIVERSIDE, Calif. — A California state court did not err in awarding the state of California almost $14 million in prejudgment interest in an environmental contamination suit arising out of cleanup costs at the Stringfellow Acid Pits Superfund site, the Fourth District California Court of Appeal said Sept. 29 after finding no error in the lower court’s application of vertical exhaustion and no error in its designated start date for the accrual of prejudgment interest (California v.
