Mealey's (July 15, 2016, 9:54 AM EDT) -- ATLANTA — An Alabama federal judge properly issued a preliminary injunction barring a county tax assessor from levying property taxes against a Native American tribe until the tribe’s challenge to the tax assessment is decided, the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals held July 11 (Poarch Band of Creek Indians v. James Hildreth, Jr., No. 15-13400, 11th Cir.; 2016 U.S. App. LEXIS 12666).
