Oklahoma Federal Judge Finds Exhaustion Of Tribal Remedies Required

Mealey's (June 24, 2015, 10:43 AM EDT) -- OKLAHOMA CITY — A federal judge in Oklahoma on June 16 held that the court has subject matter jurisdiction to hear a dispute involving claims of whether a Native American tribal court exceeded its limits of jurisdiction, but that it would be premature to exercise that jurisdiction because the plaintiff had not exhausted its tribal remedies (United Planners Financial Services of America v. Sac and Fox Nation, et al., No. 14-1278, W.D. Okla.; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 77419).
