Nebraska Asks High Court To Find Boundaries Of Reservation Were Diminished

Mealey's (June 24, 2015, 10:18 AM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — The State of Nebraska and the Village of Pender, Neb., on May 27 filed a petition for writ of certiorari with the U.S. Supreme Court, asking the court to reverse lower court holdings and find that the original boundaries of the Omaha Indian Reservation were diminished following the passage of the Act of August 7, 1882 (1882 Act) (State of Nebraska, et al. v. Mitch Parker, et al., No. 14-1406, U.S. Sup.).
