CMS Proposes Changes To Medicaid Error Rate, Eligibility Programs

(June 23, 2016, 2:15 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on June 20 issued proposed changes to programs designed to measure improper payments in the Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

The Payment Error Rate Measurement (PERM) measures improper payments in Medicaid and CHIP and is based on reviews of fee-for-service, managed care and eligibility components of Medicaid and CHIP.
