Plaintiffs Claim Toyota’s Automatic Unlocking Doors Led To Assault, Death

(June 20, 2016, 3:37 PM EDT) -- PHILADELPHIA — A woman who was attacked by a man in Philadelphia and the estates of people killed by the same man as he was driving away from police filed suit against Toyota on June 8 in Pennsylvania state court, claiming that a design defect in the woman’s car allowed the man to enter her car and attack her and that the assailant would not have gained access to the car and would not have been able to drive the car if not for the defect (Joseph Reed, et al. v.
