Company To Pay $3M For Illegal Dumping Of Fracking Waste In West Virginia

Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 3:59 PM EDT) -- WHEELING, W.Va. — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and a hydraulic fracturing company reached a consent decree on Aug. 25, 2014, in which the company agreed to pay civil penalties of $3 million for illegal dumping of waste from its drilling operations (United States of America v. Trans Energy Inc., No. N/A, N.D. W.Va.).
