Texas Agency: Drillers Must Provide Seismic History Of Land Used For Fracking

Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 3:57 PM EDT) -- AUSTIN, Texas — The Railroad Commission of Texas (RCT) on Aug. 12, 2014, certified new rules related to injection wells used in the process of hydraulic fracturing, which require parties seeking permits for disposal or injection wells to provide reports from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) relating the history of seismic activity at the location where the well will be located.
