U.K. Report Offers Differing Perspectives On Risks Of Hydraulic Fracturing

Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 3:46 PM EDT) -- LONDON — The government chief scientific adviser for the United Kingdom on Nov. 19, 2014, issued a report that contains differing perspectives on hydraulic fracturing, including some experts and academics who say fracking poses no threat to drinking water safety, while others argue that fracking “arguably” could prove to be one of the “innovation trajectories that later proved to be problematic,” like asbestos.
