Tribe’s Sweepstakes Machines Violate Texas Law, Federal Judge Says
Mealey's (June 2, 2016, 3:10 PM EDT) -- EL PASO, Texas — A Texas federal judge on May 27 again put a stop to a Native American tribe’s casino gambling operations and ordered the tribe to shut down its sweepstakes machines or face civil penalties of $100,000 per day (State of Texas v. Ysleta Del Sur Pueblo, et al., No. 3:99-cv-320, W.D. Texas; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 70159).
