Judge: Tribal Affiliations Do Not Support National Origin Discrimination Claim

Mealey's (May 27, 2016, 10:48 AM EDT) -- TOLEDO, Ohio — An Ohio resident cannot pursue claims that a bank discriminated against him by refusing to accept the Native American “Moor National” identification cards he presented when trying to open an account because he fails to allege a plausible claim of national origin discrimination, a federal judge ruled May 24 (Montu H. Tum-Re El v. Matthew Keel, et al., No. 3:15-cv-2708, N.D. Ohio; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 68098).
