Environmental Advocates Seek To Compel State To Regulate Fracking Waste Facilities

Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 3:31 PM EDT) -- COLUMBUS, Ohio — A group of environmental advocates on Nov. 18, 2014, filed a verified complaint for a writ of mandamus in an Ohio appellate court, seeking to compel the governor and officers within the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) to comply with state regulations concerning the operation of facilities that handle hydraulic-fracturing waste (State of Ohio, ex rel. Food and Water Watch, et al. v. State of Ohio, et al., No. N/A, Ohio App, 10th Dist., Franklin Co.).
