Judge Denies Punitive Damages Claim, But Keeps Fracking Lawsuit Alive

Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 3:20 PM EDT) -- WILLLIAMSPORT, Pa. — A federal judge in Pennsylvania on Nov. 21 dismissed a punitive damages claim filed by a group of residents who sued natural gas extraction companies accused of contaminating water wells but did not completely dismiss their lawsuit (Sheila Russell, et al. v. Chesapeake Appalachia LLC, et al., No. 14-148, M.D. Pa.).
