Texas Supreme Court Reverses; Drilling Company May Access Oil Via Residents’ Land
Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 3:08 PM EDT) -- AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Supreme Court on June 20, 2014, reversed a lower court and ruled that an oil and gas exploration company has the right to use a road on property belonging to residents to access wells on another tract of land because the mineral rights it owns includes the right to ingress and egress (Key Operating & Equipment Inc. v. Will Hegar, et al., No. 13-0156, Texas Sup.; 2014 Tex. LEXIS 504).
