Pennsylvania Judge: State Land Off Limits Until Merits Of Fracking Case Determined

Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 2:41 PM EDT) -- HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court judge presiding over a lawsuit filed by the Pennsylvania Environmental Defense Foundation (PEDF) against the state regarding Gov. Tom Corbett’s plan to raise $75 million by granting hydraulic fracturing companies the right to drill on state lands on July 17, 2014, set a date for oral argument to determine the merits of the lawsuit before any other action is taken (Pennsylvania Environmental Defense Foundation v. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, et al., No. 228 MD 2012, Pa. Cmwlth.).
