Colorado Judge Says City Of Longmont’s Fracking Ban Preempted By State Law

Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 2:40 PM EDT) -- BOULDER, Colo. — A state judge in Colorado on July 24, 2014, ruled that the ban on hydraulic fracturing passed by the City of Longmont, Colo. was invalid because it was preempted by a state act dealing with oil and gas conservation (Colorado Oil and Gas Association, et al. v. City of Longmont, Colo., et al, No. 13-63, Colo. Dist., Boulder Co.).
