Arizona Governor Vetoes 2 Water Bills He Says Would Create ‘Patchwork’

(May 10, 2016, 2:59 PM EDT) -- PHOENIX — Arizona Gov. Douglas A. Ducey on Feb. 9 vetoed two water bills, saying they would “encourage a patchwork of water ordinances throughout our cities and leave our water supply securities in peril.”

Vetoed were Senate Bills 1268 and 1400. Senate Bill 1268 would have allowed some cities in certain counties to opt out of the state’s adequate water supply rules.
