Environmental Groups Say Drought Exceptions Threaten Water Quality, Fish
Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 1:03 PM EDT) -- SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Four California environmental groups on June 3 sued the federal and state governments in federal court, asking a judge to declare that the defendants violated federal and state law when they got exceptions to water quality regulations for the San Francisco/San Joaquin areas due to drought water conservation needs (California Sportfishing Protection Alliance, et al. v. United States Bureau of Reclamation, et al., No. 15-641, E.D. Calif.).
