Government: Groups Opting Out Of Birth Control Aren’t Authorizing Contraception

Mealey's (June 10, 2015, 10:03 AM EDT) -- DENVER — The provision in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) allowing religious groups to opt out of contraceptive coverage to which they object does not require them to authorize or direct a third party to provide such coverage, the government told the 10th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals on March 31, 2014 (Little Sisters of the Poor Home for the Aged, et al. v. Kathleen Sebelius, et al., No. 13-1540, 10th Cir.).
