Fracking Company: Discovery Motion In Trademark Case ‘Grossly Overbroad’

Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 10:58 AM EDT) -- COLUMBUS, Ohio — American Energy Partners LP (AEP), a hydraulic fracturing company sued by energy company American Energy Corp. (AEC) on grounds that its name violates state deceptive trade practices law by creating confusion in the marketplace, on April 13 filed a brief in Ohio federal court contending that AEC’s motion to compel discovery should be denied (American Energy Corporation v. American Energy Partners, No. 13-00886, S.D. Ohio).
