Borrower Reaches Settlements With CRAs Over Incorrect Credit Reports

Mealey's (March 22, 2022, 1:13 PM EDT) -- CAMDEN, N.J. — For the second time in four days, a borrower has settled claims with a credit reporting agency (CRA) in a lawsuit alleging that the CRAs violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) by failing to properly investigate and correct disputes the borrower filed after the CRAs incorrectly listed her Chapter 13 bankruptcy and missed mortgage loan payments on her credit reports, even though she was permitted to sell her home free and clear of any liens and was discharged from her bankruptcy, according to a notice filed March 18 in New Jersey federal court....
