Maryland Senate Bill Would Hold Fracking Companies To Strict Liability Standard

Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 9:32 AM EDT) -- ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The Maryland Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee on Feb. 25 conducted its first hearing on legislation under which hydraulic fracturing companies would be held strictly liable for any injury, death or loss to a person or property caused by fracking operations and establishing, under law, that compliance with certain standards, laws and permit conditions would not be a defense to liability.
