Mealey's (June 9, 2021, 1:53 PM EDT) -- CHICAGO — The Seventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals on June 8 denied a motion for a panel or en banc reconsideration filed after the panel four days earlier denied intervention by the charging party in a religious accommodation lawsuit brought by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission; those two orders came on the heels of a June 1 order denying rehearing and rehearing en banc sought by the EEOC after a divided panel in March ruled that a nationwide retailer would have had “to bear more than a slight burden” if it was forced to accommodate an assistant manager’s scheduling needs due to his religion and upheld a trial court’s summary judgment ruling for the employer....
