8th Circuit Court Upholds $3 Million Wrongful Death Verdict

LOUIS — An Eighth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals panel on Feb. 23 upheld a $3 million verdict in a wrongful death case, saying the trial court was correct to deny the defendants’ motion for judgment as a matter of law because there was sufficient evidence for the jury to find that a man who was supposed to stop oncoming traffic from crossing a bridge was partially responsible for the death of a driver who was killed after a log skidder fell off of a truck crossing the bridge (Kristen Brown, et al v.
