Georgia Says Florida’s Water Claims Barred By Estoppel, Waiver, Unclean Hands

Mealey's (June 17, 2015, 12:53 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — Florida’s claims that Georgia is depleting water in the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint (ACF) Basin are barred by estoppel, waiver, unclean hands and by Florida’s own water mismanagement, Georgia said last month in an answer filed in the U.S. Supreme Court (Florida v. Georgia, No. 152, Orig., U.S. Sup).

Florida moved to file a complaint of original jurisdiction against Georgia in the U.S. Supreme Court. On Nov. 3, the court granted Florida’s motion.
