Defendant Seeks High Court Review Of SEC Enforcement Action Ruling
(February 12, 2016, 12:49 PM EST) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — A defendant in a Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement action has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to review an administrative law judge’s (ALJ) ruling holding him liable for violations of federal securities laws because the ALJ’s ruling is in direct conflict with Supreme Court precedent (Gordon B. Pierce v. Securities and Exchange Commission, No. 15-907, U.S. Sup.; 2015 U.S. S. Ct. Briefs LEXIS 4999).
