Judge: Discovery To Continue In Lawsuit Challenging County Water Rights Ordinance

Mealey's (June 17, 2015, 12:22 PM EDT) -- ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A federal judge in New Mexico on Dec. 19 refused to stay discovery in a lawsuit pertaining to oil and gas mineral rights, concluding that discovery may be “beneficial” to the court’s resolution of a motion for judgment on the pleadings filed by the oil and gas exploration company that challenges a county’s water rights ordinance prohibiting such activities (SWEPI v. Mora County, et al., No. 14-35, D. N.M.).
