Nebraska Supreme Court:Tenant Farmer Can’t Take Irrigation Acres With Him

Mealey's (June 17, 2015, 11:37 AM EDT) -- LINCOLN — The Nebraska Supreme Court on May 1 said that certified irrigations acres (CIAs) created by a tenant farmer are not an improvement that the farmer can take with him to other farmland and the landowner was not unjustly enriched by CIAs on its land to which it was not party (Thomas Kalkowski v. Nebraska National Trails Museum Foundation, Inc., et al., No. S-14-317, Neb. Sup.; 2015 Neb. LEXIS 82).
