U.S. Supreme Court Vacates 3 Orders Concerning Pandemic Religious Gatherings

Mealey's (December 21, 2020, 10:47 AM EST) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — In its two latest orders concerning various states’ limitations on religious gatherings due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, the U.S. Supreme Court on Dec. 15 vacated a New Jersey federal court’s October order and a Colorado federal court’s August order denying injunctive relief to religious leaders and a church challenging their states’ restrictions on religious gatherings and remanded with instructions for further consideration in light of the recent ruling in Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn v.
