California Appeals Court OKs Funding Law, Eminent Domain In Water Service Takeover

Mealey's (June 17, 2015, 11:23 AM EDT) -- VENTURA, Calif. — A California appeals court on April 14 affirmed a trial court ruling that the state’s community facilities funding law can be used to raise funds and purchase a privately owned water company by means of eminent domain (Golden State Water Company v. Casitas Municipal Water District, et al., No. B255408, Calif. App., 2nd Dist., Div. 6; 2015 Cal. App. LEXIS 311).
