Magistrate Recommends Default Judgment, Damages In Suit Over Soccer Game Broadcast

Mealey's (November 16, 2020, 9:34 AM EST) -- SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A federal magistrate in California on Nov. 10 recommended granting a plaintiff’s motion for a default judgment and $5,000 in statutory damages in its lawsuit alleging that the defendants violated the Communications Act and California’s unfair competition law (UCL) by unlawfully intercepting and broadcasting an international soccer game, of which it had the exclusive nationwide commercial distribution rights (Innovative Sports Management, Inc. v. Natali Liliano Delgado, et al., No. 19-02033, E.D. Calif., 2020 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 211963)....
