Judge Finds Court Lacks Jurisdiction To Hear Request For Arbitration

Mealey's (June 17, 2015, 10:19 AM EDT) -- ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A New Mexico federal judge on May 11 dismissed a suit by an insurance company seeking to have the court order an underlying dispute with the Blackfeet Indian Tribe over a denial of insurance claims related to water and mold damage to housing units to arbitration, saying the court lacked subject matter jurisdiction (Amerind Risk Management Corp., v. Blackfeet Housing, et al., No. 15-72, D. N.M.).
