Judge: Union Carbide Sufficiently Availed Itself Of Florida For Jurisdiction
(January 19, 2016, 1:16 PM EST) -- MIAMI — Union Carbide Corp.’s substantial contacts with Florida and its consistent use of the state’s courts create jurisdiction over it, a federal judge held Dec. 29 in rejecting its interpretation of Daimler AG v. Bauman (134 S. Ct. 746 ) (James John Waite Jr. and Sandra Waite v. AII Acquisition Corp., et al., No. 15-62359, S.D. Fla.; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 173906).
