Judge: Claims Over Dissolution Of Rancheria Barred By Statute Of Limitations

Mealey's (June 17, 2015, 9:31 AM EDT) -- SAN JOSE, Calif. — A federal judge in California on March 23 granted summary judgment in favor of the federal government in a suit brought by the Mishewal Wappa Tribe of Alexander Valley over the dissolving of the Alexander Valley Rancheria in 1961, saying claims were barred by a six-year statute of limitations (The Mishewal Wappa Tribe of Alexander Valley v. Sally Jewell, et al., No. 09-2502, N.D. Calif.).
