Alaska Supreme Court Affirms Board Can Establish 2 Systems For Hunting

Mealey's (June 17, 2015, 9:26 AM EDT) -- ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The Alaska Supreme Court on March 27 affirmed a state court opinion finding that the Alaska Board of Game can establish two different systems of subsistence hunting for moose and caribou in Alaska’s Copper Basin region, which includes a community hunt for groups following a hunting pattern similar to the one traditionally practiced by members of the Ahtna Tene Nene community (Alaska Fish and Wildlife Conservation Fund v. State of Alaska, et al., No. S-14516, Ala. Sup.; 2015 Alas. LEXIS 30).
