Chinese Drywall MDL Judge Finds Numerous Plaintiffs’ Claims Untimely

(May 14, 2020, 1:39 PM EDT) -- NEW ORLEANS — The federal judge in Louisiana overseeing litigation stemming from allegedly defective drywall made in China on May 11 granted a number of motions for summary judgment filed by a manufacturer defendant arguing that claims brought by plaintiffs in Alabama, Florida, Mississippi and Texas were barred by the states’ statutes of limitations (In re Chinese Manufactured Drywall Products Liability Litigation [Elizabeth Bennett, et al. v.
