Bankruptcy Court Denies Class Treatment To USAG Abuse Claims From Massachusetts Suit

Mealey's (April 29, 2020, 7:45 AM EDT) -- INDIANAPOLIS — A federal bankruptcy judge in Indiana overseeing USA Gymnastics’ (USAG) bankruptcy filing following hundreds of sexual abuse lawsuits filed an order on April 20 sustaining USAG’s objection to a class claim by an alleged victim who originally filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, writing that “[t]he case simply is ‘too far down the road’ to allow the class claim to proceed” (In re: USA Gymnastics, No. 18-9108, S.D.
