9th Circuit Trims $5 Million Award To Railroad Employee Injured In Bridge Collapse

Mealey's (April 20, 2020, 9:21 PM EDT) -- PASADENA, Calif. — The Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals on April 9 affirmed most of a $5 million award to a truck driver who was injured when a bridge owned by his employer, Union Pacific Railroad, collapsed under his vehicle.  However, the appeals court remanded the $1.5 million portion of the award for future lost wages to be reduced or for a new trial (Greg Gibbons v.
