California Appeals Court Denies Attorney Fees In Carmel River Lawsuit

Mealey's (June 17, 2015, 8:37 AM EDT) -- SAN JOSE, Calif. — A California appeals court on Dec. 5, 2014, affirmed a lower court ruling that the Sierra Club and the Carmel River Steelhead Association are not the prevailing parties in a water dispute and entitled to $256,934 in attorney fees (Monterey Peninsula Water Management District v. State Water Resources Control Board, et al., No. H039154, Calif. App., 6th Dist.; 2014 Cal. App. Unpub. LEXIS 8659).
