U.S. High Court Denies Review Of Endangered Species Role In Water Contracts

Mealey's (June 17, 2015, 8:34 AM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Supreme Court on Nov. 17, 2014, denied review of a federal appeals court decision that the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation has discretion whether to consult with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service about an endangered smelt while renewing water right contracts along the Sacramento River in California (Glenn-Colusa Irrigation District, et al. v. Natural Resources Defense Council, et al., No. 14-48, U.S. Sup.).
