Mealey's (February 27, 2020, 2:02 PM EST) -- ATLANTA — A federal judge in Georgia on Feb. 25 preliminarily approved a proposed $149 million settlement between shareholders and credit reporting agency Equifax Inc. and its former CEO and chairman of the board of directors stemming from Equifax’s 2017 announcement of a massive data breach, ruling that the proposed settlement appears to be fair, reasonable and adequate, subject to a fairness hearing to be held in late June (In re Equifax Inc.
