Estate, Employer Offer Vastly Different Takes On $7.75M Asbestos Verdict

Mealey's (February 25, 2020, 12:53 PM EST) -- NEW ORLEANS — The estate of a mesothelioma victim on Feb. 18 asked a Louisiana federal judge to hold a chemical engineer’s employer liable for an insulation company’s share of a $7.75 million verdict, saying the record lacks sufficient evidence on which to hold the insulator liable.  But the employer told the court in a Feb. 11 filing that the record doesn’t support the verdict in any form and that the estate is trying to have its cake and eat it too through a “disingenuous attempt at double recovery” (James L.
