Michigan, Company Reach $69.5M Deal To Remedy PFAS Chemicals In Drinking Water

(February 13, 2020, 1:09 PM EST) -- LANSING, Mich. —The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) on Feb. 3 reached a $69.5 million settlement with a manufacturer of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) that had contaminated drinking water supplies in the state.  If approved, the agreement will call for the company to conduct groundwater investigations and remediation in the area affected by the chemicals (Michigan Department of Environmental Quality v.
