Class Says State Of Michigan, City Of Flint Owe Damages For Lead In Drinking Water

(December 16, 2015, 1:39 PM EST) -- DETROIT — A group of residents filed a putative class action lawsuit in Michigan federal court on Nov. 13 against the governor of Michigan and other state officials seeking damages for “serious personal injury and property damage” they contend were caused by the defendants’ “deliberate decision to expose them to the extreme toxicity of water pumped from the Flint River into their homes, schools, hospitals, workplaces and public places” (Melissa Mays, et al. v.
