Florida Federal Judge Remands 33 ‘Engle Progeny’ Tobacco Cases

(December 14, 2015, 3:46 PM EST) -- ORLANDO, Fla. — A federal judge in Florida on Nov. 23 remanded 33 “Engle progeny” tobacco suits that originated as multiplaintiff actions and were later severed, after finding that the defendants’ removal of the cases was untimely (James Cinnater v. R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, et al., No. 6:15-cv-1252-ORL-28GJK, and others, M.D. Fla.; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 158619).
