Maryland Special Appeals Court Overturns $500,000 Award For Lost Household Services

(November 5, 2019, 10:24 AM EST) -- ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The Maryland Court of Special Appeals on Nov. 1 vacated a $500,000 economic damages award for the loss of household services to a woman whose daughter died from a flesh-eating bacteria infection.  The appeals court defined a three-part test to determine when household services may be recoverable as a pecuniary loss but concluded that there was insufficient evidence to support the award (Shabbir Ahmed Choudhry v.
