Bureau Of Indian Affairs Announces Proposed Rule To Govern Child Welfare

Mealey's (June 16, 2015, 4:23 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) on March 18 announced that it has published a proposed rule to govern the implementation of the Indian Child Welfare Act of 1978 (ICWA) by state courts and child welfare agencies. The proposed rule also includes changes to current regulations that govern notice to state agencies under ICWA.
