Connecticut High Court Says Occupational Disease Exclusions Apply To Nonemployees

(October 11, 2019, 1:18 PM EDT) -- HARTFORD, Conn. — The Connecticut Supreme Court on Oct. 8 affirmed an appellate court’s finding that occupational disease exclusions included in two insurers’ policies bar coverage for occupational disease claims arising out of silica and asbestos exposure filed against the insured by both employees and nonemployees who developed asbestos-related diseases while using the insured’s talc while working for other employers (R.T.
