Judge Denies Motions To Dismiss, Consolidate In MTBE Lawsuit

(November 16, 2015, 8:48 AM EST) -- NEW YORK — The federal judge in New York presiding over litigation relating to groundwater contamination from the gasoline additive methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) on Nov. 4 denied the defendants’ motion to dismiss the lawsuit and dismissed the plaintiffs’ motion to consolidate the case with a similar lawsuit filed in 2007 (In re: Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether [MTBE] Products Liability Litigation, MDL 1358, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico v.
